𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭
The Wild Robot is an upcoming American animated science fiction survival film based on the book series of the same name by Peter Brown, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was written and directed by Chris Sanders, produced by Jeff Hermann, and executive-produced by Sanders’ longtime collaborative partner Dean DeBlois. It stars Lupita Nyong’o as Roz, the title character, alongside an ensemble voice cast including Pedro Pascal, Kit Connor, Bill Nighy, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, and Catherine O’Hara.
The story begins when a ship carrying a cargo of robots is wrecked during a storm, scattering its contents across a deserted island. Among the wreckage is a robot named Roz, who is accidentally activated by curious otters. Roz, short for ROZZUM unit 7134, was not designed for wilderness survival; she was meant to be a worker robot. However, she quickly realizes that to survive in this new, wild environment, she must adapt. 
At first, Roz is met with fear and hostility by the island’s animals, who see her as a strange and dangerous creature. However, Roz, with her polite and gentle nature, slowly starts to observe and learn from the animals. She studies their behaviors, mimics their actions, and eventually learns to communicate with them. Through patience and persistence, Roz becomes a part of the island community. 
A turning point in the story comes when Roz discovers a gosling whose family was killed. Feeling responsible, Roz takes on the role of the gosling’s mother and names him Brightbill. As she raises Brightbill, Roz begins to experience emotions like love, care, and protectiveness, which are foreign to her robotic nature. This relationship helps Roz further integrate into the island community, and she gains the acceptance and trust of the other animals. 
As Roz and Brightbill grow closer, the island becomes a true home for Roz. She helps the animals prepare for the changing seasons, defends them from predators, and even contributes to solving problems like food shortages and shelter.
