GAME OF THRONES Seasons 1-8

Game of Thrones is an epic fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series. The show ran for 8 seasons from 2011 to 2019 on HBO.

The story is set in the fictional world of Westeros, where powerful families fight for control of the Seven Kingdoms. The central conflict revolves around the Iron Throne, the seat of the King of the Andals and the First Men. As the families scheme and battle, an ancient evil awakens in the North, threatening all of Westeros.

  • Season 1 introduces the major houses – Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon – and establishes the power struggles for the Iron Throne after the death of King Robert Baratheon.

  • Seasons 2-4 see the War of the Five Kings erupt, with several claimants vying for the throne. Alliances shift, major characters are killed off, and the threat from the White Walkers in the North grows.

  • Seasons 5-6 focus on the rise of religious extremism, the Stark children’s journeys, and the looming battle against the undead army of the Night King.
  • Seasons 7-8 culminate in the great war against the White Walkers and the final battle for the Iron Throne, with shocking twists and controversial endings for many characters.
